The Monarch is a 10 minute drive from the historic community of Oregon City, the first incorporated city in the United States west of the Mississippi River and a former British trading post opened in 1829. Several historic sites and museums are in the area, including the end of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, marking the end of the famed covered wagon route from Missouri for over 300,000 pioneer settlers of the West. What distinguishes the Monarch from other hotels is their philosophy. Their 192 spacious guestrooms and suites surround you with attention to detail. Relax in one of our king whirlpool rooms offering its own private whirlpool and king sized bed, or entertain in one of their suites with a wet bar, parlor area, and large screen TV/VCR. All guestrooms feature in room movies and cable television. Extra amenities include complimentary airport shuttle, same day laundry and valet, and room service featuring a full menu presented with impeccable service. Excellent, secluded rooms for smaller groups. Each of these five rooms will hold up to 18 people conference style and 25 theater style or a meeting of 35 for a reception. Since the Monarch Hotel opened, it has come to be known as one of the Pacific Northwest's top convention sites and has been recognized as the Portland area's 8th largest Hotel meeting facility.
